How Do I Setup 2-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

First Time Setup

Before using 2-factor for the first time, you have to setup an authentication method. Three methods are available:

Recommended:

• Code generator (Google Authenticator, 1Password, etc)

• Text
• Automated voice call

You can use any phone number, it does not have to be the one on your account. If you have multiple accounts that use different phone numbers, you can use the same number on multiple accounts.

Using 2-factor

2-factor is not required to log into your account, you'll continue to get a 1-click link via email to login. 2-factor is used to confirm certain actions, such as adding a new bank account. When prompted, you'll be asked to enter the code that was delivered via the method you registered (app, text, or phone call).
